Programs

NDE has an active fitness program with Running club, Active4me, May is Bike Month and more!

Active4Me Scanning Program

Active4.me uses bar code scanning technology to log students’ bicycling and walking to and from school. The program can send parents a text or email notifying them that their child arrived at school. Students can track their miles, money saved and carbon reduction.  All students are encouraged to participate!  Even students who live too far to walk or bike from home can participate by being dropped off on F Street or at the Davis Arts Center and walking or biking to school from there.  This helps reduce traffic around our school and allows participants to get some exercise before school, as well as fostering independence and confidence.

Parent permission is required for students to sign up for Active4.me! Please register, print, sign and return the registration form to receive a student barcode tag.  Registration forms can be dropped off in the front office or to the scanning station near the bike racks beginning on Wednesday, August 28. If you can help scan in students from 8:00am-8:35 am one morning a week, please contact Michelle Livingston. It’s a fun way to meet other parents and kids in our NDE community!

If you prefer a paper form, download here.

**Please note: do NOT contact the front office with any scanning, text/email notification, or northdavis.active4.me questions. Contact  Michelle Livingston at mchellelivingston@gmail.com or (925) 597-3340

Family Fun Events

Each year the NDE PTA plans the following fun-filled events. These events are a wonderful opportunity for NDE families to catch up with our friends and also a way to meet new friends. Dates can be found under Events, and are highlighted in the NDE Newsletter, You can also refer to the North Davis Elementary calendar.

Garden Program

The NDE garden program is a collaborative effort of parent volunteers, school staff, district maintenance support, and financial support from the NDE PTA and Davis Farm to School. Parent volunteers coordinate garden class schedules, provide supplies, help maintain garden areas, and volunteer as classroom “garden parents” to lead groups of students in activities such as planting, harvesting, scarecrow-making and cooking. Suggested lesson plans are made available to classes interested in gardening, although teachers are also free to devise their own lesson plans.
